Licensed Product Collaborations

Throughout the apparel and footwear industry, pop culture collaborations are the key driving force behind brand heat. I was incredibly fortunate to design a number of graphic options for the Tom and Jerry x Reebok collaboration in 2019.

Playing off of that classic Tom and Jerry “mischief” theme, I explored a few different expressive styles in order to bring a unique but authentic vibe to this capsule. From complex collaging to a more simplified street savvy logo approach, this was a really fun project to work on.

The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers is a 90’s pop culture phenomenon that introduced a rich history of colorful characters to the world, both good and evil. Predominantly known for its nostalgia factor - viewers also enjoyed a unique sense of inclusion present in the franchise as well. No singular character was responsible for saving the day - the “Ranger Way” was all about doing this together, when everyone contributes. The only way to truly capture this essence of teamwork and “Good vs. Evil” was to highlight as many of these great characters together.

Big fun, simple story lines and over-the-top action embodies the original MMPR and touched so many people at the right time. This campy approach helped the franchise stand out and is one of the most endearing qualities the fans draw on. For that reason, the visual expression and execution we took plays loosely on the nostalgia of arcade video games from the same 90’s era when the franchise debuted. This style embodies a lot of the same elements the television program focused on as well - nostalgia, over-the-top action and big fun.

Simply put our story is all about the Heroes vs. Villains. To Save or Conqueror earth. Choose your Destiny!
